... of the strong

Posted by Roger A. Tetrahart at 18:45

"In this world, the weaklings feed on the strong.
Are you happy hanging around weaklings?"
- Gaulun, FMP TSR

It may sound like some 'survival of the fittest' logic, but there is more truth to it than it seems.

It hit me kinda sudden because I realised why I consider some of my friends my friends - they are stronger than me. I don't know what "feeding" is, but it can't be all that bad, can it? Hahaha... They make you stand when you fall.

And because of that, I want to be strong too. Maybe I can't be strong, nevertheless I want to. That's all I really need to know.

With this hand I will lift your sorrows.
Your cup will never be empty, for I will be your wine.
With this candle, I will light your way into darkness.
With this ring, I ask you to be mine.

A story about my iPod earphones dropping very often.

DROP. Still working.
DROP. Both sides damaged.
DROP. Back to working.
DROP. Both sides damaged.
DROP. Only left side back to working.
DROP. Both sides back to working.

THE END!

Do you believe in signs?

Actually, I do. And usually they don't lead me astray. Hopefully it doesn't this time. *pray*

24 October 2005

Wooooohoo!!! I've just gotten M&S chocolates!! Authentic one, oK? All the way from Europe! Not the ones you go down to Orchard to get. Got 2 sticks and one whole bar!! Wooooohoo!!!

... and I'm sick.

*er-herm* ANYWAY, The sticks were watery and actually bendable when I got them. Can tell got no more shape. Two nights of air travel and this is what happens... Hahah...

Since with the recent chocolate issues, I'm putting up what my cuz posted recently:

"It's not that chocolates are a substitute for love. Love is a substitute for chocolate. Chocolate is, let's face it, far more reliable than a man." - Grace Graciala

I'm not even going to start. Debate all you want. In the comments, that is. Leave my tagboard alone, you lazy bums. *BLEH*

pg - blood

Eh, think I missed the blood donation drive.

Anyway, I think all this blood donated goes to the vampires. So that we won't have them turning against humans, and find mysterious deaths of blood-dry corpses with two holes in their necks.

Due to the recent increase in vampire population, there IS a shortage of blood. So when their slogan says "save a life, donate today", they're saying donate today or get sucked dry by a vampire. Save your own life.

Hmm... temperature check. 38.9 degrees. Yupz. Got fever.

Argh! I hate being sick! *duh* And I still have to struggle to school to hand in two due essays. But had a chat with Carol on MSN which was the usual fun! Really helped along the essay I was only halfway through. Handing in essay is a good excuse for me to visit the free doctor in NUS, but seriously, I would prefer my family doctor. Been going to him since I could remember... Dr Sun. A good man.

But being sick... argh! I couldn't smile to the usual beats of Gamble Rumble, UTAO-UTAO, Sakuranbo! The fever, sore throat, tummy aches from coughing and vomitting are such a burden. It's like you want to smile but can't, staying in a neutral state of emotionless.

Now as I write this, my flu has began. Can't even enjoy my animes properly sia. Hey, I didn't even laugh at the last episode of "Trick"! It's a bit serious ah...

Drowsiness kicking in... I shall go and rest, even after the 8 hours of sleep I've gotten since 11am.

Wait, a song's coming into my head... "badgerbadgerbadgerbadgerbadgerbadgerbadger.... fever beaver! badgerbadgerbadgerbadgerbadger.... fever beaver!"

I hate myself. :)

bob the cockroach

20 October 2005

(Sing along to Dick Lee's "Fried Rice Paradise")
For Bob the Cockroach!

I know a pal whose name was Bob.
He told me, he told me
That one day he will make it big.
Crawled around in AS3,
Tried its luck in M.c.D,
Found a corner sparkling clean and
Thought he found a place to live in,
But other roaches just laughed.
Poor guy didn't know what to do.

Brown roaches to diseased ones,
They told him, they told him
That he should just conform with them.
Eating scraps from rubbish bags,
Spread diseases and all that crap.
But Bob just got fed up then he
Took a knife to murder all them.
Looked around but there's no one.
Chopped their bodies into pieces few.
So what did he do?
He opened

Fried Lice Paradise!
Nasi Roaches very nice!
Meat's a "secret recipe",
99 varieties!
Fried Lice Paradise!
"Crunchy"'s how it's been described,
Booked a table? Very wise!
That is what I would do...
To jump the queue!

Two years past and very fast,
He told me, he told me
He had to go a little more.
Scrouged around in Chinatown,
Won't believe what he found:
The skin of worms, the eyes of flies,
And even all the spider legs.
Attracted all the vultures,
And even fish dissectors too.
Well, what did they do?
They just loved...

Fried Lice Paradise!
Nasi Roaches very nice!
Meat's a "secret recipe",
99 varieties!
Fried Lice Paradise!
"Chalky"'s how it's been described,
Booked a table? Very wise!
That is what I would do...

Wo-o-wo-o-Chow Bob Baby...
Ooo, Chow Bob Baby...
You're my Chow Bob Baby!
Red, Hot Chow Bob Baby! Baby!
You make oh-me-e crazy!
Mantis... tastes like piss.
And black widow's "OH NO!"... ANYWAY,
Oh what, oh yeah, what else can I say?
I like my Chow Roa-ches anyday!

Maybe you have eating blues,
I tell you, I tell you
That there's a place for you to try.
Where the feelers are plucked out,
Leaving only heart and gout.
But believe me when I tell you the best food beneath the sun:
Chow Roaches with extra legs...
Bobby's waiting there for you!
So what should you do?
Head down to...

Fried Lice Paradise!
Nasi Roaches very nice!
Meat's a "secret recipe",
99 varieties!
Fried Lice Paradise!
"Chicken"'s how some has described,
Booked a table? Very wise!
That is what I would do...

Fried Lice Paradise!
Nasi Roaches very nice!
Meat's a "secret recipe",
99 varieties!
Fried Lice Paradise!
Sambal roaches', lowest price!
Booked a table? Very wise!
That is what I would do...
If I were you!

19 October 2005

Many a times I've seen my friends lost in pursuit of their dreams - to want, to be, to achieve. Or simply they don't feel well, or don't feel happy...

What should I do?

So often, I get lost myself. If I am a friend, a sibling, or even a stranger, is there anything I can do? Not as jester, not as comforter. And thus the point of "I don't have to" is the only logical conclusion. Wait. Wait for a change.

Well, I'm telling you it ain't comfortable. It's disconcerting to know someone's sad, and even more discomforting to wait. Anyone who has waited before knows how painful it is.

What should I do?

*ding* Time's up.

... of reminiscence

Posted by Roger A. Tetrahart at 17:31

Do you remember your childhood? The JMC uncles (and one happy auntie) remembered a lot of things in our primary school era (1990-1995)...

Sticker albums. Dragon ball cards. Idol cards. Grasshopper catching. Spider catching. Zero point. Hopscotch. Play strings (or "cat XX". Nic nid ur help here). Monkey bars. Rubber band "tricks". Fragrace peddles. Eraser games. Ninja origami darts. Staple traps. Stephen Chow movies. Can-make-it horror movies.

Am I missing out anything?
